Cisco is continuously enhancing the product with every release and this section covers a brief description of key features and enhancements that were added. It also includes links to detailed documentation, where available.

New Software Features in Cisco iNode Manager 3.3.0

iNode Manager is a micro-services based web application that helps in managing, provisioning as well as monitoring of iNode(s) in the network. Following are some of the important features supported in version 3.3.0:

  • Supports up to 30,000 iNodes.

  • Associate/Dis-associate tags with iNode(s)

    • Tag an iNode to group and apply bulk operations

    • Ability to add/remove multiple tags from an iNode / group of iNodes

    • Management of tags – add/delete tags as required

  • iNode Manager UI is embedded as an iFrame on Opshub UI for a seamless and uniform user experience.

    • This also includes RBAC – Role based access control support for different user groups.

  • Removed inventory page from the UI to avoid displaying redundant iNode information.

  • UI/UX improvements

    • Add table to display actual and target amplitude levels on spectrum view.

    • Optimized drop-down list load time in Node Config page when number of iNodes is greater than 500.

  • Logging improvements

    • Optimized logging to support log ingestion into Elastic search without failures to aid in better debugging.

New Software Features in Cisco iNode Manager 3.2.0

iNode Manager is a micro-services based web application that helps in managing, provisioning as well as monitoring of iNode(s) in the network. Following are some of the important features supported in version 3.2.0:

  • Supports up to 20,000 iNodes.

  • Ability to mute/unmute alarms as required.

  • Schedule database export as a daily/weekly/monthly task.

  • Metadata is added in the exported database file. It is used to validate the database file during the database file import operation.

  • Ability to access iNode Manager UI with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN).

  • The inode-manager prefix/sub-domain in the URL that is used to access iNode Manager is removed.

  • User experience improvements.

    • Warning message on bulk RF profile association.

    • Download alarm history and active alarms as a CSV file.

    • New icon for iNode Manager.

    • Version based filtering on software pie chart in overview page.

    • Bulk operation(s) user experience improvement.

  • Logging improvements – audit logs for system and user triggered events and operations.

New Software Features in Cisco iNode Manager 3.1.0

Following are some of the important features supported in version 3.1.0:

  • Supports up to 10,000 iNodes.

  • UI integration with Nginx gateway and SMI’s LDAP authentication.

  • Cancel and retry support for bulk operations.

  • CSDL Compliance – Image hardening, input validation and error handling.

  • Use bulk operations to perform association/retraction of iNodes with a configuration profile, deletion of iNodes from the inventory, and operations such as reboot, and initial setup.

  • View and debug the boot parameters from iNode(s).

  • View the latest logs from iNode and debug via iNode Manager UI.

  • The UI page loading speed is improved especially when the system is loaded with large number of iNodes, i.e. thousands of iNodes.

Intelligent Node Software 3.1.1

  • iNode manger IP address is now available in YANG data module and is displayed in LCS mobile application.

New Software Features in Cisco iNode Manager 3.0.1

This is the first release of Cisco iNode Manager application on SMI Platform. Following are some of the important features supported in version 3.0.1:

  • Bundled with an Autodeploy utility for easily deploying Cisco iNode Manager application, and Operations Hub infrastructure on virtual machines (VMs) either in a three-node cluster of Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) servers, or a single UCS.

  • Supports up to 8,000 iNodes.

  • Use iNode Manager 3.0.1 with iNode embedded software v2.0.8 and above.

Features from Previous Releases

iNode Manager 2.x

Following are some of the important features supported in version 2.x:

  • Provision to import and export the database for backup and restoration.

  • Supports configuration profiles that helps in grouping nodes with similar RF and node configuration under one profile for easier maintenance.

  • Information on the RPD (linked with the iNode) is available in the UI for user reference.

  • Supports both single node and multiple node deployment (3 control plane nodes and 3 worker nodes).

  • Auto-registration of iNodes with the iNode Manager removes the need to manually add nodes to the inventory

  • Remote monitoring of iNode RF gain and tilt

  • Remote configuration of iNode RF gain and tilt

  • Remote forward and reverse spectrum capture

  • Configuration and spectrum capture on a port-by-port basis

  • Remotely enable and disable RF ports

  • Remote control of power-saving mode

  • Remote retrieval of alarms and status

  • Remote reboot of iNode
